What are private sick notes and do you need one?

Some employers or insurance schemes may require you to provide a private sick note for sickness of 7days or less.  The surgery will charge you a fee to provide you with a private ‘sick note’ and payment will usually be required in advance.  Please see our Private Fees.

Sick notes are not usually necessary for the first week of any illness.
