Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

The efficiency of the kidney gradually declines over the age of 40 but the deterioration may occur more rapidly in people who suffer from vascular disease, hypertension (high blood pressure), heart failure or diabetes.

If you have any of these conditions or have some types of bladder problems, pre-existing kidney disease or are taking long-term medication such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs) like diclofenac your kidney function should be tested at least annually.  Please see additional information to learn more on Chronic Kidney Disease.

Bethan Bell the Clinical Practice Pharmacist runs CKD clinics for Stage 3 and 4 CKD (see more information).  You will be reviewed for BP, further tests and possible changes to your medication.
