Avon Counselling and Psychotherapy Service (ACPS)
ACPS is a non-profit making professional organisation and registered charity providing confidential counselling and psychotherapy to adults. Clients can refer themselves. The standard fee for sessions is £35 . The fee for people on certain means-tested benefits is £8 per session up to a maximum of 8 sessions. There may be other options available for those on low income. There is usually someone to take calls between 2:00pm - 5:30pm Monday to Thursday.

British Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy

The site includes the United Kingdom Register of Counselors allowing public to access qualifications,   and contact details of more than a hundred  local counselors in the Bristol area.  Provides information about the association and its sub-divisions, its policies and codes, and its publications. There is also a discussion forum.

Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counseling

Another source of qualified local counselors.  The service also provides Asylum Seekers and Refugees with access to specially trained counsellors and psychotherapists in Bristol and Bath.  Interpreters are  provided if required.  The service is totally free to clients, being funded by grants.

The Bridge Foundation

The Bridge Foundation is a Bristol-based charity, founded in 1984. It provides counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples, children and families in the tradition of the Tavistock Clinic. There is a free service for families with young children in certain inner city areas, and a fee-paying service for people outside this area. The Bridge also runs conferences, workshops and training courses, and provides consultation and supervision to colleagues in the voluntary and statutory sector.

The Harbour

The Harbour provides free, professional counselling and psychotherapy to individuals affected by a physical life-threatening illness. This includes people living with the illness, carers, relatives or friends of someone with a life-threatening illness or who have been recently bereaved. Off The Record - Bristol
Confidential advice, information and support through a drop-in service and telephone helpline. Offers free, confidential, counselling through an appointment system for young people between 11 and 25 years old.

Help! - Counseling
Help! (Bristol) Ltd is a not-for-profit company. We provide counselling and psychotherapy for young people aged 9 - 25. There is no limit to the number of sessions and no restrictions on the issues dealt with. Clients are asked to make a contribution to cover costs.
