Diabetes

Diabetes occurs when the level of glucose (sugar) in the blood becomes too high.  Learn more on Diabetes.

A diabetic check should usually be done every 6 months.  We will send a letter six months after your last check to remind you to make an appointment.

In older people as diabetes progresses control by tablets, diet and exercise alone may no longer be possible. Some nursing staff have undergone training which enables the conversion of tablets to insulin to be done at Air Balloon Surgery.
