Bristol Crisis Service for Women (BCSW)

Offers support to women experiencing emotional problems, particularly those who self-injure, through a national helpline. Also provides information and publications about self-injury and training for professionals on the subject. Helpline has access to interpreters and has information on self-injury in different languages (users need to be able to state what language is required and leave a contact phone number).

Womankind - Bristol Women's Therapy Centre
Therapeutic support for women, especially those on low income or benefits. Counselling, therapy groups, helpline, befriending. The helpline supports any woman who needs to talk, including those experiencing domestic violence.

Mothers for Mothers
A self-help postnatal depression support group. Provides support for mothers with postnatal illness through a helpline, counselling, home visits, 'drop-ins' and a chatroom. The organisation runs two groups in Bristol; one in Bedminster and one in Barton Hill.

Sehatmand Aurat (Asian Women Health Project) (Wellwomen Info)
Provides emotional and physical support to service users. Support is available in Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and English. Also works with the other Asian organisations. Provides a free counselling service to Asian Women through Asian counsellors.
